Join us for our fun Derby weekend - a fun, family-friendly yet competitive venue to learn, practice and improve riding skills related to cross country competitions. Both Saturday and Sunday will offer Fun Day Activities for entire family to enjoy.  Both days will see prizes awarded to those with the best Christmas spirit/outfits.

Saturday the course is open for schooling at the regular price (yes you can school the Derby course), and a pace course will be open from 2-3pm (no additional fee). Saturday afternoon you can choose from a lead-line class for little kids; a fun-run for parents or friends (no horse); a canine XC challeng class (owner runs with dog around a course). Classes start at 3pm. Fun classes cost $15; Register in the shop.

Sunday Derby courses will be shorter than full USEA cross-country courses with a mix of show jumping and XC jumps.  Plus, you can sign up for a “pairs” class where two riders team up to complete the derby course together. The speed will be appropriate for the levels as established by the USEA, with an optimum time and a maximum allowable time.  All courses will have water or a water option and some terrain. 

Derby Registration open in the shop - CLOSES 30 November. $40 per entry; Late entires will be required to make a $35 Donation to SAzEA

Stabling, shavings and camping must be ordered/purchased directly from the fairgrounds. Contact the RV Office at info@the-rvpark.com or 520-762-8579. USE CODE SAZEA so they know you are with us. The RV office will provide assignments, etc.

Tentative Schedule:  Saturday: Pace Course open 2-3pm; Fun classes start between 2 and 3; Sunday: Derby starts 9am - 4pm (approximate)

NO MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT TO ENTER or to school Saturday 6 December. Register in the shop to school Saturday.

Divisions will include : 

Intro/Starter (18”-24”) speed 325 MPM

BN (2’7”) speed 350 MPM

N (2’11”) speed 375 MPM

ALL divisions will have an optimum time and a maximum time allowed. Exceeding maximum time results in elimination.
