What is Eventing?
Eventing is comprised of three disciplines that test the physical and mental capabilities of riders: Dressage, Stadium Jumping and Cross-country. SAzEA hosts eventing competitions, or Horse Trials, as well as schooling and educational opportunities at the Pima County Fairgrounds in Tucson, Arizona. The equestrian facility is located in the USEA Area X and is easily accessible to riders throughout the Southwestern United States. The cross-country course is operated and maintained by SAzEA for our exclusive use.
We so enjoy the enthusiasm, passion, humor, and energy our competitors and volunteers bring to our events. We are thankful for our show officials who are so giving of their time, expertise, and knowledge, and equally generous with their ideas on how to take our game to the next level. People like Christel Carlson, Dot Hamilton, Wendy Wergeles, Sheila Strickler, and William Robertson who generously offer their expertise, who have donated back to us (fees and time), and who keep working when the day is done to help us get ready for the next day. These folks, along with our dedicated cadre of volunteers, give so much back to the sport. They really inspire us every event to keep meeting the highest standards.
